Therapy, Tabloids & Sisterhood: Jessica & Ashlee
From therapy and humiliating moments to paparazzi chases, JESSICA SIMPSON and ASHLEE SIMPSON both reveal their struggles and sisterly bond in candid interviews for the new issue of Teen People, on newsstands November 4.
Jessica said that she has dealt with all the craziness, marital rumors and other pressures in her life by going to therapy: "Yes, I have. I respect knowledge of the psyche. I would be a therapist (if I weren't an entertainer)."
But she does admit that the stress has taken its toll, telling Teen People, "... my body language has changed lately -- I've been hunched over a bit, and I know why. I've been taken advantage of and used so many times in my life. I don't like being used for money or fame."
Her other coping skills? Keeping a diary and good communication with husband NICK LACHEY: "Communication between us is very important. Without it, the voices in the head start. It's hard to reflect upon (our relationship) but that's because the story's not done yet."
And for the record -- she hopes that story with Nick lasts forever!
Jessica also said that some days are just difficult under the spotlight: "It gets to the point where it's so frustrating that you just want to get away. I almost flipped my Range Rover trying to get away from the paparazzi last week, and it made me so heated."
Meanwhile, Ashlee has weathered her own storm over the past year, and it is big sis Jessica that has helped her through many rough moments: "I leaned on Jessica a lot this year ... I would call her up and be like, 'Help me out.' She's been through it all, and she was so supportive."
The 21-year-old also says she has grown from things like her "SNL" and Orange Bowl incidents. "Everybody falls on their faces. But flaws make you who you are ... I found the strength to pick myself up and write a new album."
Ashlee's new album, I am Me, came out last Tuesday, October 11. Jessica is working on her fourth album, And the Band Plays On, due out next spring.
