Doubts surround Kidman's marriage plans to country star
The marriage between country rocker Keith Urban and Hollywood starlet Nicole Kidman is off, it is being reported.
37-year-old Kidman and New Zealand-born Urban met in January 2005, although only went public with their relationship in the summer. The pair have enjoyed a whirlwind romance, with the March 2006 date bounded about. However, a report in The Daily mail this week reveals Kidman is having doubts over the pairing.
"Everything seemed to be going fine, but then she heard stories that Keith had not totally turned his back on his wild ways," A friend of Kidman's told the publication. Nicole told Keith she needed space to think and had to break off their engagement.
"The truth is, a lot of her friends were worried about him from the start because of his reputation as a womanizer and no one wants to see her hurt again. She feels Keith isn't ready to settle down. Keith's devastated but determined to win her back."
Urban is one of the biggest country stars in the US and Australia, with his latest set "Be Here" selling over 3m copies. His forthcoming US tour kicks off Feb. 1 in Indiana.
